Privacy Policy
1. Summary
GetiPlusOne is an English learning application. Your dictionaries, word books, flashcards, review history, media and reading progress are stored on your own computer. An account is optional: without signing in, the app works fully offline. There are no ads and no third-party analytics/tracking SDKs.
2. Data stored locally on your device
- Dictionaries you import, word books, flashcards, review records and study statistics;
- Imported audio/video/e-book files, generated peaks and thumbnails;
- Application settings (e.g. theme, language, playback preferences);
- Downloaded pronunciation models/audio packs, and optional offline AI models (local translation engine and models, speech-recognition models).
These files live in the application data folder (e.g. %APPDATA%\englis-master, or the app's container folder when installed from Microsoft Store). Uninstalling the app or deleting that folder removes them.
3. Account and optional cloud sync
If you choose to create/sign in an account (email + password), we use Supabase as the authentication and database provider. In that case the following may be transmitted to and stored on Supabase:
- your email address and a hashed password (handled by Supabase Auth);
- learning data you choose to sync (for example word books, flashcards, review progress, etc.), so the same account can be used on another device.
Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/WSS). We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.
Your own cloud drive (optional): if you connect your own WebDAV cloud storage, the connection credentials are stored only on your device (encrypted with the OS keychain), and your materials/cards are written to your own cloud account — they do not pass through or get stored on our servers.
4. AI grammar analysis
When you use an online AI feature (for example sentence grammar analysis), the text of the selected sentence (and your interface language) is sent to an AI service to produce the analysis. The request goes to the service provider you configure yourself (you supply your own API key). Results are cached on your device. No account credentials or files are sent with that request.
If you install optional offline models from the app's resource list, that translation/audio is processed entirely on your device: only the model files are downloaded, and no text or audio is sent to us or to any third party.
5. Network requests
- Downloading the optional pronunciation model/audio library from GitHub;
- Downloading optional offline AI models, automatically falling back to their mirrors when the primary host is unreachable;
- Checking for and downloading application updates;
- Sign-in and cloud sync (only if you use an account);
- Online AI analysis (only when you invoke it).
As with any internet request, the remote server may see technical information such as your IP address and user agent. We do not build profiles from it.
6. What we do not do
- No advertising, no ad SDKs;
- No third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs;
- No access to your camera or contacts;
- No microphone access (except for recording features related to English learning);
- No selling or renting of personal data.
7. Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you delete it (or uninstall). Account data remains while your account exists. You may request deletion of your account and associated cloud data at any time by emailing us; we will delete it within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.
8. Local AI processing (translation and speech recognition)
Local AI features can run fully offline using models you install from the app's resource list:
- Local translation uses the llama.cpp engine with a Qwen model; the text you translate is processed on your device;
- Local speech recognition uses whisper.cpp; the audio you transcribe is processed on your device;
- In both cases nothing is uploaded to us or to any third party — only the model files are downloaded, and you can delete them at any time to free up space.
9. Children and minors
The app is a general-audience English learning tool and is not directed to children (an age rating only describes content suitability, not the intended audience).
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children;
- Minors should use the app with the consent and guidance of a parent or guardian. Some regions have stricter rules: in Korea users under 14, in the EEA users under 16 (or the age set by each member state), and minors in Japan, Taiwan and other jurisdictions need consent from their legal representative (parent or guardian), or the account should be created by them;
- If you are a parent or guardian and find that a child has registered or provided personal information without your consent, email us at support@getiplusone.app and we will delete the account and associated data within 30 days;
- We never use any user data (including that of minors) for advertising or profiling — the app contains no advertising.
10. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be announced on this page and, where appropriate, in the application. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
